Paper accepted at S&P 2025

We are excited to announce that the paper Analyzing the iOS Local Network Permission from a Technical and User Perspective by David Schmidt, Alexander Ponticello, Magdalena Steinböck, Katharina Krombholz, and Martina Lindorfer has been accepted at the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (S&P 2025).

In the paper, we analyze four aspects of the local network permission: (1) its implementation, (2) the prevalence of local network access in apps, (3) the concepts mentioned in the permission requests, and (4) the user’s understanding. For more details, take a look at our paper.
