The CheckMATE Workshop, co-organized by Sebastian Schrittwieser as this year’s General Chair, was held on October 18, 2024, in Salt Lake City, USA., alongside the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) 2024.

The workshop focused on the Man-At-The-End (MATE) attacker model, where adversaries have direct access to target software or hardware, enabling them to extract sensitive information or compromise system integrity. The six papers presented at the CheckMATE Workshop focused on various aspects of software security, including dynamic watermarking techniques, anti-cheat defenses, reverse engineering tools, MATE attacks within ARM TrustZone, stealthy persistence methods, and improved cryptographic key extraction.
